//42 717 immersion lighting and tfdi 717 aircraft sitting on runway

Built for the TFDi Design 717 and now fully v5 compatible, the effects displayed in 717 Immersion provide an immersive experience that is second to none! This free update is available now, and don’t worry v4 users, you’re still officially supported.

717 Immersion was designed with extreme attention to detail. This passenger jet aircraft’s small size makes every single effect more noticeable, more enjoyable, and above everything, more immersive! All dynamic lighting effects were calibrated to react correctly with PBR or non-PBR textures, materials, and surfaces.

When last interviewed by FSElite they asked about the introduction of costs into the platform now that we introduced Game Modes. To be completely transparent, since our early access launch “What can I use my money for?” has been the number one question. My answer to Calum was one that really might only make a lot of sense to me until the feature is publicly released, at which point it makes sense to you. Let’s revisit that statement…

At the very core of our mission statement with The Skypark is “Freedom.” Freedom to fly what you own, freedom to fly where you want, and starting today, freedom to play the game YOUR way.

Some of you may be thinking, “But when can I spend money!?” We promise it’s coming, but game modes need to exist first.

OK, so what are game modes? Once you reach Level 3, you unlock Game Modes. In the Settings App under Gameplay, you‘ll be able to choose from 2 game modes, Discovery & Endeavour. Think of it…

pmdg 777 landing with //42 777 immersion v1 in fsx

In the movie TRON, “End of Line” is used by programs similar to the way humans use phrases like “That’s final” and “That will be all.” Thus, beyond being an incredible tune by Daft Punk on the official soundtrack, It can also serve as a formal goodbye.

Today 777 Immersion V1 says “End of Line.” Initially released on December 17, 2014, the product has received updates through many PMDG 777 variations and multiple simulators, including FSX and Prepar3D.

At Parallel 42, we prefer to focus on pushing the envelope of currently available technologies rather…

Parallel 42 releases a revolutionary platform for the enjoyment of flight simulation built on a simple concept; Less Planning, More Flying.

The Skypark is available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 as early access.

Flight simulation can be pretty dull without a feeling of purpose. Even the most adventurous simmers can fall into the trap of flying only familiar routes and aircraft. As a contract pilot on The Skypark, you can choose worldwide adventure or chase financial success.

In the real world, the only tool a pilot needs is a tablet. Why should it be any different in-sim?

The hardest thing for an artist to do is to put a price on their own work. They know better than anyone what it took to get to where they were able to produce something the world want to enjoy. The answer lies in a delicate balance between what people are willing to pay, and what it cost to build.

In my 42 years of life (yes really!) I never imagined the world could be in as much chaos as it’s in today. So many people have had their idea of normal life disrupted…

The QualityWings 787 arrived in Prepar3D v5 fairly swiftly after release, however, was broken by Lockheed Martin’s release of hotfix 2. About 48hours ago QualityWings released a fix to correct some critical lighting issues that were preventing us from releasing 787 Immersion for Prepar3D v5. The moment we got the news of the fix being released, we got to work fixing things and engaged the Area 42 team to test our update.

//42 787 Immersion is now Prepar3D v5 ready. To update/install please launch Orbx Central and navigate to the //42 tab where you will find it listed.

Let’s start with a little background info…we are a team of 2, Keven & Edson. We conceptualize, plan, build, project-manage, QA, market, and release Parallel 42 products. One would think that’s the end of the cycle, but not so much. With the number of unique systems globally, every release, update, or patch generates its share of support tickets. You guessed it; we do the support too! (Shout out to Raul of FSReborn that dives in to help with tickets for products he has worked on!) This background info isn’t meant to be an excuse, just setting the stage.

//42 release candidate warning sign

We’ve always enjoyed the thought of allowing users to test Release Candidate (RC) builds of our software. ChasePlane enabled you access to that distribution channel with a toggle in the preferences area. However, while it allowed you to have access to RC builds, it was a bit of a mystery as you never really knew what you were signing up for. There was no disclaimer, no expectation set, and no way to communicate issues back to us. It was also too easy to stay in beta forever and never go back to the “stable”…

PMDG 737 flying in clouds with Parallel 42 737 Immersion V2

A few goodies to share today! We’re excited to announce that 737 Immersion V2 and 747 Immersion are ready for Prepar3D v5. Like you, we had to wait for Lockheed Martin to release Hotfix 2, and PMDG to bless HF2 and update the aircraft. Since then we have been working hard to squash bugs, update variables, and adjust our effects to match up with aircraft changes.

Additionally, we’ve made some visual updates to Immersion Manager (IMM). These are minor but make a big difference in the overall feel of the application.
